The Pink Experience No. II: Explore space and sound with med Aarhus Sound Arts Festival

07/04/202207/04/2022

For the first time ever, Aarhus Sound Arts Festival will be a part of the SPOT Festival-lineup, presenting the total-installation The Pink Experience No. II.

Aarhus Sound Arts Festival is arranged by SIMA Culture in cooperation with a line of strong partnerships. The last two years, you’ve been able to experience this magnificent new festival at Aarhus, with underwater concerts, sound installations, lights architecture, talks and a whole lot of experience art on the poster! Last year saw the birth of The Pink Experience at the festival, with artists such as Bjørn Svin and Sasha Masakowski performing in several different art installations, bathed in different shades of pink nuances in various materials, with the audience placed on carpets made by artist Cecilie Mai Sommer.

As a new thing on the SPOT poster at SPOT 2022, Aarhus Sound Art Festival will open the doors and welcome you to The Pink Experience No. II at Åben Scene, Godsbanen, on Friday the 6th of May. Here, you can experience three artists performing in a symbiosis with installations in a frame that holds the purpose of embracing the venue, the art, and the music – and the reaction and interaction with the audience.

“We can’t wait to welcome you and together experience The Pink Experience No. II. In a co-creation, we’ll challenge the understanding of what a venue and live experience can. We’ll create space for exploring, calmness, and immersion, while presenting an alluring and risk-full output,” says Rune Lak, who – with his colleague Tshepo Mapeka – are the forces behind SIMA Culture.

The line-up includes Danish-American Mira Siegel, avant-gardist Elca, and critically acclaimed Astrid Sonne, while SIMA Culture in a co-creation with inhouse and external artists, technicians, and volunteers will create the total-installation The Pink Experience No. II.

Besides the event at SPOT 2022, you can experience Aarhus Sound Arts Festival on August 12th – 13th.
