Stardust, new formats, and trailblazing up-and-comers: 10 new acts at SPOT 2022
SPOT Festival is getting closer and closer and today we’re ready to throw an absolute jawbreaker of an announcement at you with 10 exceptionally great additions to this year’s lineup. Today’s acts include rap-royalty from the top of the Danish music scene, familiar names in new, alternative formats, as well as upcoming artists that are marching ahead with supersonic speed.
First up is none other than hip hop-pioneer Sivas who’ll bring his unique style and his bombastic bangers that have cemented him as one of the biggest stars on the Danish scene. This year’s line-up is further augmented by indie pop star Rasmus Littauer, whose solo-project School of X has garnered praise from Danish as well as international critics for his dreamy tones. In record time, iomfro has established herself as one to watch with her poetic texts and danceable melodies, while the Copenhagen-based duo Gorgeous also guest Aarhus with their charming blend of country, folk and pop. Danish alt-pop multi-instrumentalist LUSTER enters this year’s programme with his eclectic, playful, and melodic “raw pop” that draws from 80’s new age. Critically acclaimed Lydmor replaces her usual neon paint, eccentric light productions, and pulsating electro-beats with the naked song and piano, while Go Go Berlin reinterpret and remix their back catalogue when they present a new and electronic rendition of the band’s songs that’s inspired by acts such as Daft Punk and Air.
Marshall Cecil playfully combine R’n’B, pop, hip hop, and rock in a pop universe that encompases fear, loneliness, joy, and the ups and downs of life, and the quintet KALASET deliver dream pop and indie rock that draws inspiration from The Cure and Broken Social Scene amongst others. Rounding out this selection of acts, we have Pauline who’s modern, nordic pop has demanded the attention listeners in no time with her singles ‘Ny Og Næ’ and ‘Noget For Nogen’.
As always, you’ll find much more information about these artists and the rest of this year’s line-up here on our website. Other than that there isn’t much left to say – except remember to buy your ticket to SPOT 2022 in May.
