For SPOT 2022, the Ethel Prize will be presented by last year's winner, Lydmor, prior to her concert in Store Sal.

The Ethel Prize is a music prize instituted by Pia Rasmussen or Pianist - a central figure in every way in the first women's music environment, which emerged in the 1970s. She was preoccupied all her life with the relationships of female musicians and when she knew she was going to die of her cancer, she set up an award that could continue her work for a while yet. The Ethel Award is about getting involved in the music business. The award is given to individuals who have made a special effort to promote the conditions for female musicians, and in this way to have helped to promote the gender balance and diversity in the Danish music scene.

The prize consists of an ‘Ethel’ - a sculpture depicting Ethel Smyth - created by the sculptor Malene Bjelke and DKK 25,000. It has so far been awarded five times; to Kristina Holgersen (2017), HUN SOLO (2018) and Fallulah alias Maria Apetri (2019). In 2020, it went to the venue Forbrændingen in Albertslund, which with the project ‘Women in the Center’ expressed the gender balance in a new activist way, and in 2021 to Lydmor because she as an artist is an active political role model, which was debatable.
