Her kan du møde:
Name: Andrea de Leon
Company: Audio Network / For Nothing Management
Title: Senior A&R Manager UK & Europe / Founder
Based in: London
Can you tell us a bit about the company’s history and its roster?
Audio Network is one of the world’s leading independent music companies, specialising in the production and licensing of music for TV, film, advertising and digital media. We’re committed to finding and signing the best composer and artist talent around the world. We work with renowned musicians like George Shaw, Ayanna Witter-Johnson, Tom Rosenthal, Lil Yamaha and Glenn Gabriel to name a few. For Nothing Management is my own artist management venture working with a number of artists over the last 4 years such Iyamah and Lucy DK.
And can you tell us a bit about the acts you personally work with at this moment?
I look after our roster throughout Europe for Audio Network. Working very closely with our Nordic and French teams in particular to build a roster of homegrown talent across genres. I’m excited about quite a few projects at the moment but a couple to mention would be Sofia Lafuente’s bilingual sophomore EP project and Afro Rnb artist Atueyii’s debut project, out later in the summer. I’m also working with Finnish composer, Olli Varis on a folk underscores album which i’m looking forward to releasing to clients and beyond in Autumn.
What was the moment you decided you wanted to work with music?
I knew I wanted to work in music from a pretty young age. I remember watching a TV news piece featuring a girl group and their manager when I was about 10. I immediately ran outside to my friends (we lived in a flat complex) and formed a pop group which I declared I would manage. It lasted about 2 days but from that point, I knew I wanted to work with music. I went through a stage of wanting to be a music producer and got a degree but ultimately figured out that helping and facilitating music creators and artists was where my heart was.
Which acts are you looking forward to seeing this year at SPOT?
Looking forward to checking out as many as I can but definitely want to catch ICEKIID, Amina & Agnes Hartwich.
Best show you’ve ever seen hands down?
It would have to be D’Angelo in London on his first tour in over a decade. Tightest band I had ever seen.
